The other day I decided that we needed to get out more on the weekends, rather than try to cram as much housework as we can, along with blog work, along with family time. I said “Pfftt! Housework! Who needs a clean and organized house anyways!?” (that’s my philosophy lol) “Let’s go to the lamest freaking bbq show in the worst part of town!”

Ok, I didn’t know it was going to be lame! Or that it’s in THAT part of town. Or that the “petting zoo for kids” meant a lizard and a tired panther in a cage.

Last weekend we went to get some video shots done at the  local shopping mall and go grocery shopping. I attempted to do an “OUTFIT” shot, but as usual it was a challenge in our 90 degree heat with a baby who decided that grass is much more interesting than the camera in front of her. So that’s the best I’ve got.

I was also excited to finally wear my “going-home” dress with a matching romper for Alexis, now that she is big enough for it.

I am finding out that I almost always end up wearing nursing clothes (mostly Boob Design, because I am yet to find another nursing company with nice looking clothes) rather than normal clothes with a low neckline. It appears that most of my “low neckline” outfits are just not LOW enough to make it comfortable. Layering a nursing tank underneath isn’t an option since it’s really hot. So I am thinking that I might need to start looking for more nursing brands out there, sort of like I did with maternity. Because I am definitely not ok with resorting to simple tanks for the next 2 years. One can only pull of a wife-beater once or twice a week, I cannot live it them.

Elena: Boob Sailor Nursing dress
Alexis: Sailor Romper and Melondipity hair flower
Andrew: A&F polo and Express shorts

What is your favorite nursing clothing brand? What do you do for nursing clothes?

STEPPING OUT SATUDAYS

I have to make a confession. I have WAY too many clothes. I have a huge walk in closet stuff with tees and dresses, and polos, and tank tops and jeans. I rarely get to wear even 1/10 of the outfits. To be honest, I don’t like most of my clothes. I like buying new, until that new is not new anymore, and then I don’t like it anymore. So this year I set a goal for myself not to buy any more clothes. First of all, there’s no point in buying something now if I am planning on getting pregnant. Secondly, I need to learn to use the clothes I already have. Mix and match it, layer it, wear it!
So rather than throwing a tee and a pair of jeans this morning, I decided to finally do something with the least worn pieces that have been gathering dust on my shelves.
Today  I wore

  • high wasted shorts
  • short sleeved off white jacket
  • glittery tank underneath
  • colorful bangles
  • elephant necklace
  • stupid shoes I don’t even like

So there you go, I am done stepping out.
