I’m amazed how you’re not scared of labour and delivery pain and all that Reply Elena @ Art of Making a Baby September 25, 2011 at 11:02 AM | # I have no idea why. Maybe it’s naivete, maybe it’s the end result that keeps me from being scared. Maybe it’s the fact that I am open to an epidural if I decide I need it. But i think it’s mostly because I know that is the only way to bring Alexis into this world. I feel the fear went away when I started feeling a big bond with her. The pain of labor and delivery is aaall worth it, and if you are open to an epidural, you may not have that much pain. I opted for epidurals for both of my births, and I am glad I did. I felt like I was able to enjoy my birth experiences without focusing on the pain. And I did really enjoy them, in fact I was looking forward to the whole thing again with baby #2, because I had so many wonderful memories and feelings from the whole experience. Epidural or no epidural, it will be a a very special day that you will want to remember every minute of! Reply Elena @ Art of Making a Baby September 26, 2011 at 7:53 PM | # I have read a lot of positive experiences of women who got an epidural and a few negative ones. In the end, I think it will go the way it will go, so we’ll see. I’m definitely open to it, if i can’t handle the pain. I can’t wait for that day! The time between now and then is going to fly, I know, and like you said, the eager expectation of this extraordinary little person diminishes the fear of the process a bit! Very cute pic of you guys Reply Elena @ Art of Making a Baby September 26, 2011 at 7:57 PM | # It’s amazing HOW much the expectation of her diminishes the fear. I’m not even concerned!
